I only go away for a few days… and this report is published… makes interesting reading. On Brand Republic, though I spotted the original in ‘Marketing’ first. One of the interesting things is my old friend Tesco… Number two in the ‘brands we love’. Yet we hear such negative comments on the brand through the media with the impression that everyone resents the retail giant’s dominance. Perhaps this underlines the misbalance we see when a vociferous minority have a disproportionate share of voice. However, Tesco are also number 22 on most hated brands. It indicates how a brand of such scale must inevitably attract huge interest and generate strong feeling on both sides.
